Join the Class Google Chat Space

Step 1. Watch for your invitation

1. You’ll receive an email invitation to the Space (from Google Chat) or a direct message invite from the organizer.
2. Open the invite and click Join. If prompted, sign in with your Google (Gmail) account.

Didn’t get an invite? Send your Gmail address to the organizer so they can add you.

Step 2. Open the Space

1. After accepting, the Space opens in chat.google.com or the Chat tab in Gmail.
2. If you don’t see it immediately, refresh the page or open the Spaces list in the left sidebar and click the class name.

Step 3. Adjust your notifications

1. Inside the Space, click its name at the top.
2. Choose Notifications → select All messages, Mentions only, or None.

If you have trouble

• Make sure you’re signed in with the Google account that was invited.
• Check your inbox (and Spam/Updates tabs) for an email from Google Chat with the invitation.
• If you were removed or left the Space, ask the organizer to send a new invitation.
